Why do I need a brand campaign for Google Ads?

Running Google Ads for your brand name might seem counter-intuitive, but it’s often a good strategy. We often get asked why you should pay for clicks when you can get them for free, but it’s more complicated than that. Brand campaigns allow you to dominate search results, get more traffic and stop competitors bidding on your name.

What is a brand campaign?

In a nutshell, a brand campaign shows people ads in a search engine for your branded search terms, like your company name.

5 Reasons You Should Not Ignore Brand Campaigns

Ignore brand campaigns and you could be missing out on sales and revenue. Worse still, your competitors could be cashing in on your lack of exposure!

Domination

You’re already likely to appear on the first page of Google for your brand name. But who (or what) else appears on the first page with you? A competitor? An outdated business directory? A reviews website showing poor feedback about your company? You should dominate as much space as possible on the results page and a brand campaign helps with this.

Low Cost Clicks

Clicks for own-brand related keywords are often fairly cheap. What’s more, it will be relevant traffic who already know your brand and are more likely to become customers.

Change Your Message On The Fly

Want to let your brand searchers know you have launched a fantastic new sale (which, by the way, can help boost your click through rates)? Show your new message quickly and easily thanks to your brand campaign.

Without A Brand Campaign, Your Competitors May Outrank You

Competitors often create ads that generate visibility in search results for rival brands. As long as they are not trying to pass off as your business, they are fully entitled to adopt this tactic! Having your own brand campaign will help ensure your result is the first one users see.

Safeguard Against Organic Rank Drops

A drop in organic search position for your own brand search is pretty rare but it can happen. A brand campaign can keep you in position one, which helps mitigate these issues and gives you time to fix the problem. Of course, you could also look at one of our managed SEO campaigns to help with organic position – naturally we recommend doing both.
