  • Unwrap your Christmas marketing early
7th November, 2016 • 3 min read

Emails can be used to advertise promotions and offers, but also work well when providing interesting content your audience will love.

When it comes to marketing and Christmas, it ain’t the thought that counts. For a lot of businesses, this is the busiest time of year, with some retailers seeing more than half of their sales coming in October to December[1]. If you haven’t already got marketing plans underway, now’s the time to act.

Here are some marketing strategies that can be put in place quickly to get more website traffic.

Google AdWords

The beauty of using paid ads online is the speed with which you can attract more people to your website. Use Google AdWords to get visibility at the top of the search results straight away – for terms that are important to you.

If you have an amazing deal, a sale or a product you want to push in the run-up to Christmas, AdWords is the perfect way to get the message across.

Facebook Pixel

Attracting new visitors to your website isn’t the only strategy. Add a Facebook Pixel to your site and you can advertise to people who have either visited the site as a whole or gone to one section of it. This helps turn visitors into customers and ensures you’re maximising sales.

You can do something similar on Google AdWords, showing image ads to people who have visited your site previously. The Facebook pixel allows you to show ads to people while they’re on Facebook, while Google ads can show on a huge range of other websites.

The sooner you have the Facebook Pixel installed or set up an AdWords remarketing list, the more data you’ll have available.

Email Marketing

Emails are another great way to reach out to people who already have an interest in your brand. They can remind customers about you even if they haven’t bought anything or visited the site for a while.

Emails can be used to advertise promotions and offers, but also work well when providing interesting content your audience will love. Consider linking to a blog post or video guide you’ve created with tips to make the festive season easier. Even a quick note to wish your customers Happy Christmas could be enough to jog their memory and get them back on the website.

Need help? We can install a Facebook pixel, set up an AdWords campaign or design and send an emailer to your customer list. Give us a call and see what we could do for you.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

Hope everyone’s OK out there. As a digital agency, we’re lucky that the virus hasn’t affected us too much. To protect our staff, everyone is working remotely, and all project work is carrying on as normal. It’s possible there could be some delays here and there though, particularly if team members fall ill. We’ll keep you posted. All we ask is that you email rather than call if possible, as we have fewer people on the phones at the moment.

Stay safe, and see you soon :)
