To mark Sport Relief, a few of us have dusted off our trainers to take part in the Clear Sport Relief triathlon (with a difference).
Throughout this week, members of the team will be covering ‘18’-themed distances to mark Clear’s 18th birthday. This includes 1.8 miles of swimming, 18 laps of Shrewsbury’s Quarry (x2!) of running, and 180 miles of cycling.
The swimming will be split between Sandra, Russ and Lewis. The cycling will be done by Zoe and Stew (remember them?), who is currently circumnavigating the world, see here. Finally, we’ve thrown some competition into the mix with our running, with two relay teams going head-to-head to around the quarry.
The money raised for Sport Relief is used to support those living incredibly tough lives, in the UK and around the world. Since 2018, they’ve helped support an astonishing 13m people, from assisting in improving mental health services to reducing fear, violence and discrimination.
Following on from our Christmas campaign – 12 days of Clear Community Christmas, it’s great to be involved in more charity work. No matter how big or small the contribution is, a little goes a long way.
For this year's Sport Relief we managed to raise £107. Keep an eye out for our next charity event. Does anyone have any suggestions for what they’d like to see us do?
