Online marketing in 2013 can be challenging. With a whole host of Google algorithms plus fierce competition for the top rankings on Google, it can be easy to overlook the fundamentals of SEO.
Our SEO specialists have put together three basic SEO tips to get you started and on the way to that top spot on Google:
1. The domain name
Your domain name can be your most valuable asset in getting good SEO results. For new companies it is best to use a domain name relevant to the main service or product sold. For example, if you are selling ACME toothbrushes, the domain acme-toothbrushes.co.uk will ensure you get the best results within the UK.
2. Remember - your website is for people, not search engines
Target each of your pages to users and remember that not all users come in to your site via the home page. You need to ensure the page they are entering on contains all the information they may require and describes the product or service in detail. This will ensure your page contains a good level of textual and relevant content.
3. Research!
Research the keywords and key phrases you are targeting. You need to speak the same language as the people looking for your site, and so a little bit of research will ensure that the key phrases you use are the same as what your customers are searching for.
