In 2015, West Mercia Police launched ‘We Don’t Buy Crime’ tackling acquisitive crime and associated harm with forensic marking kits registered to more than 58,000 residents, across Herefordshire, Shropshire & Worcestershire. Since its launch, the project has gone from strength to strength with five main strands all aimed at preventing crime.
The five strands are:
- Fuel Stations
- Covert Tactics
- Second Hand Stores
- Towns & Villages
- Associated Harm
The campaign encompasses road signage, forensic property marking kits, currently provided by Smartwater, and training business owners, residents and frontline professionals to have their ‘eyes and ears to the ground’ when it comes to acquisitive crime and associated harm.
The project has been hugely successful and as it developed the We Don’t Buy Crime team were keen to refresh the brand residents and business owners aware of the recognizable activities of the initiative.
It was agreed that a new brand incorporating a new logo would be rolled out across signage, residential support and crime prevention packs & property marking kits and a new website portal that we would build, to allow for more visibility of the important work the We Don’t Buy Crime team does.
