Nutriment are a dog food company specialising in raw food. In 2024 they commissioned a study into the scientific benefits of feeing pets a raw food diet. Having worked closely with them for a number of years on the maintenance and development of their main Magento website, they came to us with a view to creating a new website to publish details of their scientific study, Trust Your Gut.
The brief
The client asked us to design a website that was complementary to the main Nutriment brand, whilst being detached enough to reflect the study's independence. The site needed to be built on a platform that would allow for expansion over time, as the study results wouldn't be available for launch, and there were likely to be additional rounds of studies further down the line.
The website needed to be able to host a wide variety of data, from standard text and media, to complex tables, embedded videos, slideshows and product listings. While the website would not be transactional, there needed to be clear calls to action to encourage visitors to request more information, join the mailing list, or visit the main Nutriment website.
Our Strategy
The starting point for the design of the website was Nutriment's new packaging and logo, which was at the time not yet released to the public. The colour pallet for the website uses shades of the new brand guidelines, and features elements of the new branding such as rounded corners and iconography.
We elected to build the website on the Wordpress platform. This would allow for a quick build whilst ensuring that we would be able to build out the website over time as new results are released and the study is expanded. We developed a series of Advanced Content Fields which could be deployed in any desired order on each page, in order to accomodate different content requirements whilst ensuring each page remained in keeping with the overall look and feel.
The client had a compressed timeframe for the launch of the website, as it needed to be ready in time for the publication of the study results. As a result, the project required close collaboration between the project management team and the client to ensure that all content was available as early as possible to help the development team to see how the real-life content would be placed.
The Results
The end result is a responsive Wordpress website that caters for the varying types of content, and can be easily extended by the client themselves thanks to Wordpress' easy back-end management interface.The project was delivered on time and on budget within a compressed 3 week timeframe.
Following the launch of the website to the UK audience, the client then commissioned the creation of a German language version. Thankfully, this was an easy request to accommodate with Wordpress, and the German version of the website was launched a short time after the UK website.
