New logo, branding and website for the High-tec material testers

Rotech has been at the cutting edge of material testing for many years, serving a broad range of industries to give insight and expertise into the limits of their client’s designs and helping them to push what is possible.

The brief

Rotech came to us looking for a rebrand initially, their branding hadn’t been updated for some time, it was a complicated mark and its messaging had started to make less sense as to how they identified. Rotech was looking for a new statement that would help to add vigour and vitality to its core message.

This would lead to the design of a new lead generation website and a set of brochures to help them market themselves across a broad range of situations.

Our strategy

We spoke to Rotech at length about what they felt was the direction they should be heading in and how we could represent that. We discussed their industry and the industries that they serve as well as where they wanted to be further down the line.

We ended up creating a mark that was stripped back, bold and powerful. It was minimal but we were able to incorporate a visual device into the ‘R’ to represent a microscope. This removed all of the details from the previous logo and gave a much clearer and confident message.

We experimented with the idea of what it means to push a material to breaking point, we also looking at honoring Rotech’s heritage. In the end, forward facing simplicity was the boldest direction to take.

The website then followed after the logo design. For this, we created a design that allowed Rotech the flexibility to build its pages from a template with design options. This allowed us to ensure their varied content types would be accommodated and always look consistent and easy to understand.

The brochures came next and followed the art direction developed during the web and branding projects to create a complete and unified marketing ecosystem that presented a united front.
