Curteis is a British jewellery manufacturer specialising in high-quality chains, pendants, and charms. 

With over 50 years of heritage, the brand supplies fine jewellery to retailers and designers across the UK and beyond.

After their previous agency designed the website, Curteis came to Clear through our developer, Kevin Ruscoe, seeking a long-term partner with deep technical expertise. The goal was to evolve their existing WordPress website — refining the design, enhancing performance, and integrating complex wholesale systems to give trade customers real-time stock access and custom pricing.

The Brief

Curteis’ previous agency had delivered a solid initial design but lacked the development capability to manage technical integrations and long-term support.

The client required a partner who could:

  • Integrate their in-house stock order system to display real-time inventory for trade customers.
  • Introduce a secure login system with custom pricing structures.
  • Maintain the integrity of the existing design while refining UX and ensuring a consistent mobile experience.
  • Incorporate digital catalogues and flipbooks within the site for an enhanced browsing experience.
  • Support future integrations and ongoing improvements as their business evolved.

The challenge was to create a stable, flexible platform that could evolve with the brand’s digital ambitions while remaining aligned with Curteis’ craftsmanship and heritage.

The Approach

Design Refinement & UX Improvements

We inherited and enhanced the existing WordPress design, ensuring a seamless experience across desktop and mobile. Each page was refined to better showcase Curteis’ jewellery collections while improving navigation and visual balance.

Key Templates:

  • Homepage – refreshed with a modern, luxury aesthetic
  • Category Pages – clearer structure and easier navigation
  • Product Pages – visible only to logged-in trade users; no public pricing
    Plating Service Landing Page – “From Dull to Dazzling” campaign focus
  • Catalogue & History Pages – highlighting the brand’s 50-year legacy

Wholesale Integration & Custom Functionality

At the heart of the project was the connection between Curteis’ internal stock system and their WordPress site. This allowed wholesale customers to view real-time stock levels, while dynamic pricing structures ensured trade users saw their custom rates once logged in.

We also built a secure login area, implemented Worldpay for payment processing, and developed bespoke logic to handle different pricing tiers.

Catalogue Integration & Digital Experience

Curteis’ extensive catalogue was digitised and integrated into the site via an interactive flipbook system. This allowed users to browse collections fluidly online and link directly to product categories, bridging traditional catalogue browsing with a modern digital experience.

We also developed a dedicated landing page for their plating service, combining elegant visuals with a strong call to action — resulting in a significant increase in enquiries for jewellery re-plating.

Technical Optimisation & Maintenance

Beyond design and integration, Clear delivered a series of technical improvements to ensure the site runs efficiently and securely. This included ongoing plugin management, hosting optimisation, and performance monitoring.

Our development team also established best-practice processes for version control and deployment, ensuring stability as the site continues to evolve.
