Clansmen of Scotland and farmers of Shropshire rejoice! The government has recently unveiled new guidelines and policies regarding the limitations of extortionate delivery charges - or outright refusal of delivery - for remote areas in Scotland and the UK, after thousands of complaints were filed.
We get it, Scotland is far away. Rural Scotland is even further away. But a standardisation of services is a step in the right direction for preventing discriminatory practices, setting out appropriate principles for businesses such as delivery firms and online retailers, including more transparency of up-front costs and charges when purchasing online.
Implementing these policies will ensure equal service and ease of shopping for remote online customers and access to untapped market potential for online retailers and delivery services. Sounds like a win win to us!
